Sauber to get another Chief Designer
Sauber's Chief Designer, Stephen Taylor will be leaving the team in the near future. The reason for his departure is not yet known. It appears that Sauber is not in a hurry to replace Taylor. Team Chief, Peter Sauber confirmed the departure: "It is correct that Stephen will leave us for personal reasons. We are not yet sure when he will go."
Häkkinen will not follow team orders
Double World Champion, Mika Häkkinen has made it clear that he will not help David Coulthard in the Championship. Häkkinen currently trails Coulthard by 32 points. Häkkinen explains why he will not defer: "I can still win the Championship," said Häkkinen. "I know how to win it and the car is getting better all the time."
Coulthard's response to his team-mate's comments: "It is not up to me when and whether team orders will be used at all."
Fun Karting, Kerpen Germany: - Keep the Schumachers apart Rolf Schumacher, father of the Schumacher brothers Ralf and Michael, thought it best that his sons host the fun karting event separately, because he didn't think it a good idea for the two to host it together at the same time. He pointed out that the track looked good and the karts were brand-new.
Ralf said: "We've had this for the last five years, or four years since I joined Formula One,"
Ralf Schumacher explained how he and Michael were kept apart: BMW Williams were allowed on track from 12pm to 5pm and Ferrari from 6pm until 3am.
"The intention at the end was to let the Ferrari and Williams guys race against one another but my father didn't want it," explained Ralf. "The circuit looks so nice and the karts were brand new, so it was decided to have them separate."
Jacques Villeneuve to Häkkinen - Help David!
Jacques Villeneuve calls on Häkkinen to help Coulthard to win the 2001 WDC (World Driver Championship). The 1997 WDC believes that Coulthard has driven outstanding so far and has done better than Häkkinen.
Villeneuve: "David helped him in the past and it's probably about time that Mika helped him now because his season has been quite bad, you could put a cross on it, I guess," he told reporters. "Actually, David's probably the one who has been driving the best this season. He's carried the team this season and he's still in the fight. And the team definitely didn't make his life easy, so if he keeps it up like that then he'll be a force to reckon with for the whole season."
