Magnussen handed post-race time penalty, drops out of the points

The finishing order has changed following the Belgian GP.

The stewards have slammed sixth place finishing Kevin Magnussen with a 20 second time penalty following the Belgian Grand Prix, dropping him to 12th place and out of the points. Nico Hulkenberg was the lucky driver who moved up inside the top ten as a result.

“The driver of car 20 (Kevin Magnussen) was defending his position on the straight between turns four and five, a significant portion of car 14 (Fernando Alonso) was alongside car 20. The driver of car 20 did not leave enough space for car 14 and forced the car off the track.”

They are of course referring to the fierce battle for fifth place between Alonso, Vettel, and the McLaren teammates in the closing moments of the race.
