Lewis Hamilton's new trading card has a real diamond embedded in it

Topps has offered a first look at a one-of-one Lewis Hamilton "Diamond Anniversary" card that has a genuine diamond embedded within it as part of the Dynasty Diamond Relics run.

This comes as the seven-time Formula 1 world champion readies himself for the new 2026 regulations - a mental reset for the driver who had a troubling first year at Ferrari after moving from Mercedes. Finishing the season on 156 points, 86 behind team-mate Charles Leclerc, Hamilton was visibly downcast by his lack of results with the Scuderia as he finished sixth in the drivers' standings.

Being the 75th anniversary of F1, this was as big a year for the championship itself as well as for Hamilton. And this has paved the way for a number of these premium-grade cards over the year, with several fetching substantial amounts online. With this card boasting a diamond to commemorate the series' diamond anniversary, it will become the set's main draw, and likely command a high price.

Another card, revealed in November by both Topps and Hamilton, boasted a piece of material from the driver's Ferrari race suit contained within it.

The card also has his signature across the top of the design in blue ink, followed by the memorable slogan of his: "Still We Rise". This comes from the brand's premium line, the Topps Dynasty line, where each of the cards feature real autographs and patches from a mix of things like race gloves, zippers, and even nameplates.

They come encased and are extremely rare.

Topps has held the licence for F1 since 2020 and has quickly become the leading outfit for trading cards of the championship. In 2024, a card of theirs of Hamilton sold for a record-breaking $1million.

Talking to The Athletic at the time, he said: "I mean, it’s pretty crazy. I've never thought that would be the case. The story of it, where the kid had bought it through a pack, the difference that purchase would have made to him and his family would have been huge.

"I can only imagine these things are just going to continue to go up now, especially with the store opening. I know there’s another big launch of another league coming up and just the growth of the business. It’s got me really hooked.

"I was opening up those boxes just now, and I was like, I need to get myself some more of these boxes."
