LE CASTELLET, France, Feb 5 - Mika Hakkinen returned to the cockpit of his McLaren-Mercedes today for the first time since he crashed at last November's Australian Grand Prix. Hakkinen, from The Finland, fractured his skull in the Ade- laide accident. He successfully completed a series of short runs in a McLaren MP4/10 at the Paul Ricard circuit in France. Hakkinen will make his first public appearance since the accident during the launch of the team's 1996 car at Estoril in Portugal on Sunday. The Woking-based believes Hakkinen will make a full-time return to F1 racing this season and hope he will be able to compete in the first race of the year, the March 10th Australian Grand Prix at Melbourne.
