Lawrence Stroll's new 262-foot-long superyacht spotted towering over buildings in Dutch canals

Lawrence Stroll, part-owner and executive chairman of Aston Martin and owner of its Formula 1 team, has invested in a new superyacht, the Feadship Project 714. Although this is technically a step down in size from his previous 317-foot superyacht, the Project 714 is still a staggering 262-foot behemoth, and not exactly what you would describe as suited for a cruise down Dutch canals.

Last week, the billionaire's superyacht was seen towering over buildings in the Dutch village of Alphen as it navigated the tight canals and under the Alphen Bridge. The tense moment had locals at a standstill as the vessel squeezed its way through to get to open waters for its first sea trials. 

Stroll's Project 714 is expected to travel to Boskoop, Waddinxveen, Gouda, and Rotterdam next, where it will continue with its sea trials.

Feadship Project 714 specifications

The 2,500 GT vessel is part of Feadship's Advanced Electrical Drive (FAED) programme. The multi-million-pound superyacht features a steel hull and aluminium superstructure.

The overall length is 79.95m/262.4 feet, and the overall beam is 13.57m/44.6 feet. It has a fuel capacity of 240 m3 and fresh water capacity of 70 m3. 

Feadship describes Project 714 as "a true gentleman's yacht" and "a showcase of cutting-edge technology with a propulsion system developed through the Feadship Advanced Electrical Drive (FAED) program."

While the details about the interior are currently scarce, if it is anything like the others in Feadship's line up, which feature a luxurious living space and a sunken lounge on the main deck, it is set to be an incredible high-luxury vessel. As per a report from Luxury Launches, the Project 714 is a five-deck superyacht which will include a beach club, a swimming pool, and an elongated bow which can also be used as a helipad.

It is expected that Stroll will take delivery of the Project 714 at the end of the year.
