Daniil Kvyat has been reprimanded by the race stewards at the Austrian Grand Prix for ignoring the pitlane entry requirements.
Kvyat cut across the pitlane entry line during the opening free practice session at the Red Bull Ring.
With the race stewards adamant that the pit entry procedure will be enforced, it meant that they met to discuss the matter on Friday lunchtime.
F1 race director Charlie Whiting had made clear to drivers ahead of the weekend that they could not enter the pitlane if they were not inside the entry line at Turn 8.
In notes sent to teams he said: "For safety reasons drivers must keep to the right of while line preceding the pit entry, this line starts 50 metres before Turn 8."
In a statement issued before second practice, the stewards said that Kvyat would be handed a reprimanded.
This is his first reprimand of the current season.
