Testing for the week, and for the in-season schedule, came to a close on October 13th with just three drivers from two teams on track at Jerez. BMW Sauber's Robert Kubica was the fastest of the trio with a best time of 1:17.557 over 104 laps.

Nick Heidfeld had been scheduled to join his teammate but was feeling unwell and only did an installation lap before calling it quits for the day. Once again Kubica used two chassis and worked on tyres, transmission, system checks and aerodynamics.

Williams was the other team present, with test drivers Alex Wurz and Narain Karthikeyan second and third respectively. "Narain started the last day of the Jerez test by completing a race distance this morning and then moved on to a series of set-up evaluations," said test team manager Mike Condliffe.

"Alex, meanwhile, worked on the suspension and a tyre comparison with Bridgestone. The test has been very useful in terms of what we have learned about both the gearbox and the Toyota engine, and successful in that we managed to complete race distances with such a new package."
