Heinz-Harald Frentzen and Ricardo Zonta today began a four day test in hot conditions at Monza with the Benson and Hedges Jordan Honda team. Frentzen was quickest with a lap time of 1:24.67 and completed 71 laps, while Zonta finished 61 laps and was fourth fastest with 1:25.15.

Frentzen spent the day concentrating on a variety of brake materials and cooling options for the Italian Grand Prix in addition to work on general chassis set-up. Meanwhile, Zonta focused his efforts exclusively on aerodynamic mapping of various configurations measuring straight line speed for forthcoming high speed events, beginning with the German Grand Prix at Hockenheim at the end of this month.

The team was satisfied with a very productive and problem free start to the test.
