INDIANAPOLIS, UNITED STATES, September 29, 2001 -- European Minardi F1 is today pleased to announce that highly regarded Formula One engineer, Dr John Davis, joins the team with immediate effect. British-born Davis, 45, becomes Head of Research and Development and Deputy Technical Director, and will work closely with Technical Director, Gabriele Tredozi.

Davis will be based at European Minardi's Ledbury facility, which next year will also provide the operational headquarters for the Faenza Formula One squad's research and development team. A full array of the very latest technical equipment will be available to Davis and his technical staff, including seven-post rig, full CAD/CAM support and, later in the year, a new, 50-percent wind tunnel.

Davis comes to European Minardi with a wealth of experience in the sport to his credit, including stints with Lotus, Ligier, Pi Research, Jordan, and most recently, Arrows.

"We are very pleased to welcome John on board," comments European Minardi Team Principal, Paul Stoddart. "He brings a wealth of relevant knowledge and experience with him and will bolster the team's growing technical staff at a time when European Minardi is poised to take its first serious step on the journey to significantly increased overall competitiveness."
