2009 Formula 1 champion Jenson Button is set to make his Goodwood Members' Meeting debut at next year's 83rd instalment of the event.

The Briton will reunite with his championship-winning car, the Brawn BGP 001, which he last drove in 2019 on the 10th anniversary of his drivers' title victory.

Button's appearance at the Goodwood Members' Meeting follows his retirement from professional motor racing. Having retired from F1 at the end of the 2017 season, the 45-year-old has since raced in Super GT, British GT, the 24 Hours of Daytona, the NASCAR Cup, and the World Endurance Championship. He stepped away from the driver's seat at the end of the 2025 WEC season to spend more time with his family.

"I am excited to be making my Members' Meeting debut, and in no less special a car than the Brawn BGP 001," the former F1 driver said. "I last had a chance to drive it back in 2019, which was incredibly emotional and quite surreal. I cannot wait to experience that feeling all over again, and where better than Goodwood!"

The Duke of Richmond CBE DL said: "I can’t wait to see Jenson back behind the wheel of the fabled Brawn BGP 001 at the 83rd Members’ Meeting. Seeing, and hearing, a modern Formula 1 car at speed around the Goodwood Motor Circuit is always a thrill - a tantalising glimpse at what might have been, had the circuit not closed in 1966.

"And this time will be even more special, as we reflect on the career of one of Britain’s most popular World Champions, and the unique success of the Brawn team during that amazing 2009 season.

"Jenson has been a loyal supporter of everything we do at Goodwood since he first entered F1 nearly 26 years ago, although remarkably this will be the first time he has ever driven the Brawn here. It really will be an ‘I was there’ moment, and the best possible way to celebrate the end of Jenson’s professional racing career."
