Jaguar Racing continued its quest to improve the performance package of the R3 with the first of a three day test session in Valencia on Wednesday.

After a disappointing Spanish Grand Prix weekend, Pedro de la Rosa and Eddie Irvine were both present at the circuit along with the Williams, McLaren, Sauber and Renault teams.

Pedro completed a substantial 74 laps of the circuit in setting the fourth quickest lap time of the day in 1m12.918s. Eddie Irvine managed slightly fewer laps in setting a quickest mark of 1m14.439s.

With the new wind tunnel in Bicester now up and running, Jaguar Racing will use the three days to concentrate on improving the aerodynamic set-up and balance of the car in time for Austria.
