Jaguar will test their old car and the new one in Barcelona this week. The Wednesday though Friday test will compare the last year's R2 with the new and uncompetitive R3. If the R2 proves to be the quicker, the team will prepare three cars for the San Marino GP the second weekend of April.

Pedro de la Rosa will handle the testing duties the first two days, with Eddie Irvine doing the Friday sessions.

All eyes, including those of rival F1 teams testing at Barcelona, will be on the performance of the Jaguars. The team believes testing with other teams, will give them a truer reading on the relative speeds of their two chassis.

Jaguar is committed to using the R3 chassis in Brazil. If the R2 is chosen to run at San Marino, the team insists development on the R3 will continue.
