BAR's David Richards is not the only one ruing a lack of reliability this season; Jaguar's Tony Purnell is also hoping for a change of fortune. Mark Webber has scored Jaguar's six points so far this season and although Purnell is happy with the improvement in the team, there's still problems to sort out.

"We have improved immeasurably this year and the attention and commitment to the job has been exemplary," he told the team website. "We could do better in the reliability department and, to be frank, even if we were geniuses we couldn't really have made a substantial effect on reliability within six months."

Heading into the latter half of 2003, Purnell believes things will improve. He says he doesn't believe in luck but a little more good fortune wouldn't go amiss.

"In the second half of the season, for the first time, I think we'll be on the spot reliability wise and we have to deliver on that front," he commented. "I don't believe in luck because I think you make your own luck. But right now I think we deserve some good fortune on the reliability front, and we need it."
