Following on from a highly encouraging weekend in Spa, the Jaguar Racing team resumed its testing duties at the venue of next week's Italian Grand Prix -- Monza.

Drivers Eddie Irvine and Pedro de la Rosa took to the circuit for the three-day test alongside every other team in the Formula One paddock with the exception of the troubled Arrows team.

The team worked on race mileage in preparation for next week's grand prix and, amongst other things, fine-tuning the cars for different set-ups and tyre evaluations.

Encouragingly, Pedro finished the day third fastest of the 15 runners, the Spaniard clocking a 1m24.54s from 50 laps of the circuit. Only Ralf and Michael Schumacher finished abouve the Jaguar R3 on a circuit that Pedro favours.

Eddie also enjoyed a good day at the office, piloting his car to sixth fastest in the lap times behind his team-mate, Marc Gene's Williams and Olivier Panis' BAR.
Testing continues tomorrow (Thursday) with both drivers again in action.
