Despite the rumours doing the rounds, Jaguar Racing is adamant that Minardi's Mark Webber is not on the verge of signing to drive for the team next year. Recently alleged sources close to the Australian driver have been saying it's all but a done deal and only formalities to finish up.

However, Nav Sidhu, Jaguar's spokesman, refutes this: "Jaguar Racing has not entered into formal discussions with any driver for 2003 -- and that includes Mark Webber." He remarked.

Webber's agent, Anne Neal, confirmed that they had been in contact with Jaguar but there was nothing definite to report: "It's definitely not done," she said of a deal with Jaguar. "Things are progressing but there's still a lot to be sorted out and other teams are also interested."

Neal also said any announcement concerning Webber's future was unlikely to be sorted out before the Hungarian Grand Prix on August 18th as he is currently at home in Australia. Webber himself said talks were going on with Jaguar but it was still entirely possible he would be driving for Minardi again next year.
