Felipe Massa and Nick Heidfeld qualified their Sauber Petronas C21s 14th and 15th fastest respectively for tomorrow's Italian Grand Prix.

Nick Heidfeld:

"I felt much more comfortable with the car today. It was a lot better and we found out why it was bottoming yesterday. Unfortunately I made a mistake when I ran wide exiting the second Lesmo on my final lap, which prevented me improving on the time I set during my first run. It was difficult to decide whether to do three or four-lap stints today; I decided to do the usual three-lap runs, and I think it would have worked out if I hadn't made that error."

Felipe Massa:

"We went back in the direction we had started in yesterday morning and developed that today, and the car was much better as a result. On scrubbed tyres I had good front-end grip on my first run but the car wasn't so good on the exit to corners. On new rubber on my second run I had amazing understeer, but with more downforce the car was the best it's been all weekend and I made a big improvement on my last run. I'm just a bit frustrated that the gaps to the cars immediately ahead of me are so small!"

Peter Sauber (Team Principal):

"Generally the cars were better today but our biggest problem was getting the best out of the tyres. We tried doing three-lap runs with Nick and four-lap runs with Felipe but it was difficult to draw a conclusion. However, we know that these tyres will be very good in the race."
