A perfect weekend for the young Racing Bulls rookie ended with one small mistake: Isack Hadjar, after the first podium finish of his Formula 1 career, broke the handmade trophy, following in the footsteps of Lando Norris, who broke Max Verstappen's trophy after the 2023 Hungarian Grand Prix.
The 20-year-old Frenchman secured his maiden podium with a third-place finish at the 2025 Dutch Grand Prix after Norris suffered a power unit failure towards the end of the race. Starting from fourth on the grid after an impressive Saturday, Hadjar was able to capitalise on the surprise DNF in front of him with a perfect run at Zandvoort.
After successfully defending against Ferrari's Charles Leclerc and Mercedes' George Russell, Hadjar was speechless after the race.
"It feels a bit unreal," Hadjar said. "What was most surprising for me was keeping that fourth place for the whole race. Unfortunately for Lando, we took advantage of his [retirement], but we made no mistakes."
His podium makes him the youngest French driver in the championship's history to reach a podium, and the second rookie of the season to finish in the top three.
Unfortunately for the driver, during photos with his team he gently placed the trophy on the floor. Despite his care, it snapped at the neck, resulting in laughter from those around him.

While the value of the trophy is unknown, the four created for this weekend were handmade from ceramic. Hand-painted by Dutch designers and master painters with floral Delft Blue decoration by Royal Delft, they are, seemingly, priceless.
Motorsport.com understands that there is a spare trophy, however it is yet to be painted. The company who created the trophies are in touch with Racing Bulls following the accident to facilitate its replacement.
“Once again, the trophies are based on the design that was created in 1939. At that time, the race in Zandvoort was not yet held on the circuit as we know it today," sporting director of the Dutch Grand Prix, Jan Lammers, said. "Zandvoort was still a street circuit back then. Just like the 2021, 2023 and 2024 editions, the shape of the trophy has been developed by Studio Piet Boon. When you see the trophies, we can be more than proud of the result.”
While he may not have a trophy to take home following his impressive performance in the Netherlands, he now sits 10th in the drivers' standings ahead of the likes of two-time champion Fernando Alonso and is 17 points clear of his team-mate Liam Lawson.
"Honestly, the goal was to score big points," he said during the Canal+ broadcast. "For my part, I really wanted to hold on to fourth place at the start. I managed to do that. After that, I was smart about how I defended against Charles in the first stint.
"I saved a little in sector two so I could be very fast in sector three and protect my position. I managed to hold on for a good number of laps, so I think the pace was there, even if he was perhaps a little bit faster. Same for George, I did exactly the same thing.
"It's crazy, but at the same time, it's something I never dreamed of, but I've visualised it since I was a kid. I've always wanted to be here. This is my first podium in F1. It came earlier than expected, but I hope to get many more."
