Michael Schumacher was calm and in a good mood after the US Grand Prix, which was won in the final few metres by Rubens Barrichello after the two Ferrari drivers had attempted to cross the line together.

"We hadn't planned anything before the race, nor was there any radio communication on the final lap," said the German. "In Monza we also finished very close together as it is the nicest way to finish a race. For sure, this time neither of us had an idea who had won! We had to look at the giant screens around the circuit and that's how we realised Rubens had won."

Asked if he was disappointed not to have won, the world champion replied: "Do I look disappointed? I'd say definitely not. I am happy for Rubens and in some ways it pays him back for what he did for me in Austria," continued Schumacher. "We are a united team, Rubens and I work well together and have a great relationship. The important thing today is that Ferrari has won, not which one of us crossed the line first."
