Honda Motor Co has surprised the city by announcing not only a 14% reduction in profit this year, but forecasting a further 28% fall next year as well. The report says that Honda's situation is only saved by their sales in the US. It blamed the results on the strong yen and a slump in European sales.

Honda is currently looking increasingly weak, and a possible target for the major manufacturers, putting the long term viability of its F1 program in danger.
