Hartley gets 10-place Abu Dhabi grid penalty
Brendon Hartley’s run of grid penalties will continue in this weekend's Abu Dhabi Grand Prix as the Toro Rosso driver has again had to take a new power unit element.
With Renault struggling to find sufficient race-worthy parts, Hartley has been forced to take a ninth MGU-H this weekend.
As it’s the first time his car has taken a ninth element, he will be docked 10 places on the grid.
The significance this weekend is that Toro Rosso is fighting to hold on to its sixth place in the constructors’ championship, with Renault and Haas both close behind.
Up to $6.5m in F1 prize money is at stake if the Italian team falls back to eighth.
Hartley's teammate Pierre Gasly told Motorsport.com that he’s confident that he will be able to get through the weekend without penalty.
