Hamilton leads Rosberg in FP2

Lewis Hamilton edged out teammate Nico Rosberg to lead FP2.

Fernando Alonso was unable to back up his fast time in the first practice session earlier today, giving way to the dominant Mercedes duo of Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg. World Championship leader Rosberg ended the session nearly two tenths adrift of his faster teammate, who put down a lap of 1:16.118.

Behind them was quadruple World Champion Sebastian Vettel, who was followed by Ferrari's Kimi Raikkonen and Fernando Alonso. Like the earlier session, there were a number of offs and close calls. Both Kamui Kobayashi and Raikkonen went spinning during the session but were able to continue without any further issues.

We almost had a major accident between Sauber's Adrian Sutil and McLaren's Kevin Magnussen. Sutil was closing in on the McLaren rookie at an alarming rate into the final chicane and was forced to take evasive action. He was infuriated after the incident and called for the stewards to penalize Magnussen for blocking. After looking into it, no action was taken.

The remainder of the top ten from sixth on back was Valtteri Bottas, Kevin Magnussen, Jenson Button, Jean-Eric Vergne, and Romain Grosjean.

Hamilton has posted faster laps than teammate/rival Rosberg in both practice sessions today.
