Following yesterday's announcement from Jordan Grand Prix that approx 15% of staff would lose their jobs, technical director Eghbal Hamidy has left the team. Hamidy was not present at the season opener in Australia nor at testing sessions and it was reported that he was 'on leave'. Today Jordan released this statement:

"JORDAN AND HAMIDY REACH AMICABLE AGGREEMENT
Jordan Grand Prix wishes to announce that Eghbal Hamidy, former Technical Director, has officially left the company. This decision was reached amicably and neither party wishes to make any further comment."

Aerodynamic specialist Hamidy formerly worked with Williams and Stewart Grand Prix before moving to Arrows in 1999, where he produced the A21. He joined Jordan early in 2001 but reports early in 2002 had it that he didn't get on with Gary Anderson who returned to the team this year. Hamidy has been linked with BAR recently, to work with technical director Geoff Willis.
