Isack Hadjar has revealed that he has heard "a lot of positives for Sergio Perez for next year" as rumours ramp up about the Mexican driver's potential Formula 1 return.
Perez was replaced at Red Bull for the 2025 season after a four-year stint with the Milton Keynes-based outfit and a 14-year career in the championship. Despite failing to secure another seat for the 2025 season, Perez has remained in talks with "a few" teams for a potential return next year.
“If I find a project that motivates me fully to come back, where the team believe in me and where they appreciate my career, my experience and everything I can bring to a team, it would be very attractive to consider it,” Perez said previously to F1.com.
"That’s why I’ve given myself at least six months to get all my options on the table and make a decision on what I do next with my career. There are a few very interesting projects out there. I’ve been approached by a few teams since Abu Dhabi. Right now, the season has started so a few things will open up in the coming months.

“We are talking to a few parties out there. Once I know all my options, I will make a decision. What is very clear to me is that I’m only coming back if the project makes sense, and it’s something I can enjoy. I’ve spent a long time in F1 already, I’ve done most of it. Once you step back, you realise how much you give up in life to be in the sport. So, to be in F1 fully committed, I need the motivation.”
One option that Perez has been linked to is the incoming Cadillac F1 team, which will make its debut in the series in 2026. The American outfit is yet to confirm the driver lineup for next year, which will bring the complete grid to a new total of 22 cars and their drivers.
While nothing has been confirmed at this stage, Hadjar told Motorsport.com and other media in Silverstone that he had heard "positives" about a potential return for the six-time Grand Prix winner.
"He's definitely F1 calibre, that's for sure," Hadjar explained.
"I hear a lot of positives for him next year. It looks like there's something going on. He obviously deserves a spot there. It's Checo. He's done pretty well next to Max [Verstappen]."
