Gutierrez says outqualifying Grosjean "not enough"
Esteban Gutierrez says he is not happy to just outqualify teammate Romain Grosjean, as he wants "much more than that".
The Haas driver has managed to qualify and finish ahead of Grosjean for two races in a row now, a feat he had not managed in the first five grands prix of the season.
Gutierrez, however, is yet to score a point, while Grosjean has scored three times already.
The Mexican admitted having turned the tables in the last two races is not enough for him.
"It doesn't satisfy me completely because I'm not only looking to outqualify my teammate," said Gutierrez.
"It's not enough. I want much more than that."
Gutierrez, who has returned to F1 racing after a year as a test driver for Ferrari, says he has not yet started thinking about the 2017 season, and insisted he remains fully focused on his Haas driver despite a frustrating year so far.
"At the moment I'm committed to Haas. I don't have anything else in my mind for the future," said Gutierrez. "It's very important to go step by step in your career. I live in the present and I like to optimise what I have at the moment.
"I am aware that being near a Ferrari environment helps a lot the Ferrari people to see how things are going, and it can open up doors.
"But it's something that shouldn't be in our minds and we should just focus on what's happening now, because what you do in every race is all together what will bring other opportunities, whether it's Ferrari or with other teams."
Asked when he will start thinking about the future, he said: "Maybe around July/August."
