Gutierrez certain good results "will arrive soon"
Esteban Gutierrez says he will take positives out of the Belgian GP weekend despite a grid penalty potentially costing him a chance to score his first points of 2016 for Haas.
The Mexican started 18th after a five-place drop for impeding Pascal Wehrlein, and eventually recovered to 12th place.
“I was just giving my best, getting a reasonable weekend out from something that was really tough,” he said.
“Starting 18th, we finished 12th. We didn’t finish in the top 10 like we wanted, but we pushed really hard. I did all I could with what I had.
"Pushing all the race, a clean race, good overtakings, so I think we can take some positives and keep going forward with the same rhythm, because I’m convinced, being consistent like this, it will arrive soon.”
Gutierrez believes he should have finished higher up, but he lost out when he pitted under the second lap of safety car, a lap after team mate Romain Grosjean.
“The first lap I overtook a lot of cars. But I lost a lot of time when I had to pit after Romain. I couldn’t go quicker under the safety car, having to pit again and lose a lot of time wasn’t ideal.
"We did our best. It was a good a race, a good drive, so we will keep going, pushing very hard, and getting the maximum potential out of what we have.”
