Bernie Ecclestone says the German GP is not officially off yet but it is unlikely to take place this year.
Bernie Ecclestone has denied that the German GP is officially off, despite a German newspaper claiming that he had confirmed that was the case.
The race was due to be held at Nurburgrimg this year, while Hockenheim has a contract to host it in 2016, as per the usual alternating deal.
You can say that it looks unlikely but we are trying to rescue it.
Ecclestone confirmed that he had sent a reply to the paper in response to a query about the race, but said that a final decision had been not made.
“Who knows?,” he told Reuters. “There are two places there. Wait and see. It's not looking good... You can say that it looks unlikely but we are trying to rescue it. I don't want to lose it, for sure. We are trying our best."
