The Benson and Hedges Jordan Honda team had a productive practice session, making good progress with tyre and car set-up configuration for the race. Frentzen experienced brake balance problems during the first session, with improvements being made in the hour break to achieve a better setting to suit the track. Trulli found a very good car set-up and is happy with his EJ11's handling and behaviour.

Jarno Trulli
"It was a positive practice session as we developed a good set-up for the race distance here and I'm happy with the car's handling and behaviour. Tomorrow's track conditions will certainly be different as they change so frequently at this circuit, so we will have to work hard on qualifying set-up in the morning. I don't think the lap times today are a true representation, as some cars were suddenly very fast at the end, so may have been running lower fuel levels. The track conditions today were similar to those at the test a month ago which made the data we gained then very beneficial."

Heinz-Harald Frentzen
"The car was running well today and the practice session was very productive for me. It was good that I was able to complete so many laps this morning, especially as I was unable to participate in the test here last month because I was suffering from headaches after my crash in Monaco. The car had a few brake problems this morning, but I feel we have now established a better brake balance to suit this track."

Tim Holloway, Head of Engineering
"This circuit is all about establishing the right tyres for Sunday's race. We have completed some long runs this morning and been able to complete a lot of tyre work in race configuration. It has been good to make progress with the cars' set-ups and have a trouble free session."
