Having finished sixth in three seasons (2011, 2013 and 2014), the Silverstone-based team is on course to achieve their best result in Formula 1 this year.
Force India is 41 points ahead of Lotus in the standings and with a maximum of 86 points on offer in the two remaining races, the squad has its first chance to clinch the fifth spot in this weekend's race.
"If we score well in Brazil, we can clinch fifth place in the championship and that’s the priority," said Vijay Mallya ahead of the weekend.
"I’m confident we can do it and getting both cars home in the points would be a great way to celebrate our best season ever."
If Lotus doesn't score any points in Brazil, Force India will need only three points to guarantee fifth place.
Drivers upbeat
Both Sergio Perez and Nico Hulkenberg, coming off from a good Mexican Grand Prix, were optimistic of their chances in the Interlagos race.
"In the last few races we've had a really good run of results," said Perez. "I feel I’m driving at my best and the team is doing a fantastic job.
"We want to finish this season on a high and I think we still have some big results in us, so I am confident ahead of the race," the Mexican added.
Remembering his 2010 pole and 2012 performance, when he was leading the race before contact with Lewis Hamilton, Hulkenberg was happy to be back at Interlagos.
"I seem to have good chemistry there and I feel comfortable on and off the track. I think we will be competitive so I hope I can add another strong result to the list," the German said.
