The first photos of the new Hermanos Rodriguez circuit have broken cover, a month before the circuit hosts the Mexican Grand Prix for the first time since 1992.
The 4.306km circuit has a 1.3km straight on which the cars are expected to reach over 330km/h as the density of the air is less than at any other F1 venue due to the high altitude. The track has 17 corners.
The venue has 110,000 grandstand seats, with two stadium sections which the cars pass through that will also be used for concerts and other sporting events the rest of the year.
Emerson Fittipaldi, Sergio Perez and former F1 driver Hector Rebaque were on hand for the opening ceremony today, along with the Mayor of Mexico City and the CEO of the CIE group, which has undertaken the renovation of the track and taken on the promotional contract.
The Mexican Grand Prix will take place on November 1.
