Minardi F1 and Cesare Fiorio have parted ways over disagreement in the team's strategic direction.

The decision, effective immediately, is the second divorce for Fiorio and the team -- after the previous split, though, they had reunited in January 1999.

The dispute is generally believed to be rooted in the pending sale of the team; the leading contender for new ownership is expected to be PSN, an Argentine cable network.

In the meantime, the team is focusing on ensuring that it can retain the services of chief designed Gustav Brunner for the 2001 season.
