FIA fines GP

The organisers of the Brazilian Grand Prix have been fined $100,000 for the safety problems during the race meeting last month.

FIA to reduce number of European races

The World Motorsport Council has set out its aims to reduce the number of races in Europe.

"Arrangements would be made to treat the EU (and its member states) like the USA: as a single country within the membership rules of the FIA, holding a strictly limited number of World Championship events."

The FIA has an ongoing dispute with the EC regarding contracts and television rights. It has also said that contracts will not be renewed until laws are clarified.
