The straight at Vairano was the scene of some tests centring on new aerodynamic solutions. Fabrizio Giovanardi starting running with the F2001 at 9.00 and finished work at 18.00 having completed 80 runs.

Today at Ferrari there was both testing and a shakedown for the cars to be used in the British Grand Prix. The first to take to the track was Michael Schumacher in chassis 209. Luca Badoer began driving at 10 in chassis 211, and then he concentrated on practice starts and electronics work, doing a total of 39 laps, with a best time of 1.00.932. For his part, the German driver worked on electronics and set up throughout the day, completing 80 laps with a best time of 59.246. In the early afternoon, the Italian began shaking down chassis 210, doing 6 laps. He then moved on to chassis 206 for five laps, finally trying chassis 211 for 8 laps, whit a best time of 1.00.022, which had been overhauled after the morning's test. In the evening, Michael also did 20 laps in chassis 209 on an artificially wet track. Testing ended at 20.30.

Testing continues tomorrow on the straight at Vairano with Fabrizio Giovanardi.
