Schumacher has a difficult day Magny-Cours, 18th June Circuit: Nevers, Magny-Cours, 4.250 Km. Drivers: Michael Schumacher, F300 chassis number 181. Eddie Irvine, F300, chassis number 183. Weather: air temp. 16-25 C, track 40-52 C, sunny. Nevers, Magny-Cours, 18th June 1998 - This was the third day of testing this week for Scuderia Ferrari-Marlboro on the track which hosts the French GP on June 28th. Eddie Irvine had an uneventful but productive day, trying different set-ups on his F 300. He completed 25 laps with a best time of 1m 18.430s (5th fastest.) Michael Schumacher was slightly quicker with a best time of 1m 18. 122s (4th fastest) from 61 laps. However, his testing ended early. In the afternoon, two thirds of the way into a race distance simulation, he had a tyre blow out as a result of something damaging the front right rim. Michael ended up in the gravel, bringing the day's testing to an early close. The German driver continues testing tomorrow.
