Ferrari starts testing at Magny-Cours Magny-Cours, Nevers - 16th June Circuit: Nevers, Magny-Cours, 4.250 Km. Drivers: Michael Schumacher, F300 chassis number 181. Eddie Irvine, F300, chassis number 183. Weather: air temp. 15-20 C, track 25-40 C, sunny with some clouds in the afternoon. No less than fifteen drivers were testing at the Magny-Cours circuit in central France today, the venue for the French GP on June 28th. Scuderia Ferrari-Marlboro had both Michael Schumacher and Eddie Irvine present with an F 300 chassis each as the teams begin preparations for the French GP which takes place on this track on June 28th.

In warm and sunny conditions, Schumacher, who started running at 9 am, and Irvine both worked on similar programmes, evolving a set-up for their car as well as doing some tyre testing. The German completed 59 laps with a best time of 1m 17.88s., (third quickest) while the Irishman, who began testing a bit later in the morning did 48 laps with a best time of 1m 18.25s (fourth fastest). Both drivers continue testing tomorrow.
