In a statement issued by the FIA, the Ferrari team and drivers Michael Schumacher and Rubens Barrichello have been called to appear at the next World Motor Sports Council meeting on June 26th. Following the uproar after Ferrari called team orders into play in the Austrian Grand Prix, outraged fans and F1 personnel alike called for action to be taken.

"Following an incident during the last lap of the 2002 Austrian Grand Prix and incidents during the subsequent podium procedure, the FIA has summoned the Scuderia Ferrari Marlboro and the drivers Michael Schumacher and Rubens Barichello to appear before the World Motor Sports Council at its next meeting," the statement read.

Barrichello led the whole race until the last corner where he pulled over to let Schumacher take the win. Boos and jeering from the crowd greeted the result and the FIA are under increasing pressure to investigate. All over the internet F1 sites and message boards have been besieged by disgusted fans, including many Tifosi, expressing their dismay at Ferrari's actions. Perhaps this time the Prancing Horse has gone too far.
