Schumacher confirms no race in Malaysia

Further to the earlier reports, Michael Schumacher has said he will not race in Malaysia, saying he is now suffering from inflamed knees.

"I've tried to put some pressure on my knees, but they inflamed immediately. 'By next year I think everything will be okay. But this winter will be very tough for me."

His spokesman, Heiner Buchinger, believes that he will race in Japan. "Personally I think there is a very realistic chance he will be there to race."

Belgium to re-appear

It now looks likely that the Belgian Grand Prix is to be reinstated to the 2000 calendar. The Belgian courts have overturned the law to be in line with the EU, and the excemption will exist until July 31st 2003, the same as the rest of Europe.

Schumacher will not race this season

According to press wires, Michael Schumacher is to sit out the rest of this season. According to these reports, Michael has informed the team that whilst his broken bones have healed, his personal fitness is not high enough for a return.
