Bernie Ecclestone thinks Ferrari should let its drivers race against each other so Michael Schumacher would at least get a bit of competition. Rubens Barrichello has played backup to Schumacher for years and Ecclestone believes Michael's victories don't mean so much when the only person capable of challenging him is not allowed to by the team.

"Michael is a great driver but at the moment he has no opposition," Ecclestone said, according to UK tabloid The Sun. "There is only one car that could beat him, the second Ferrari, and that is being driven by a guy who is not allowed to race him. It is always going to be a hollow victory when the other guy has his hands tied."

"If Rubens did not have to play second fiddle, the pair could at least make a race of it. It's all a bit silly. Michael should tell the team to allow Rubens to race against him, even if it might cost him victory. He may still win but at least there is the chance of seeing some exciting action at the front between the two."

Barrichello thinks it's only a matter of time before he takes victory for himself this season. "I think Michael has been very very strong throughout the year," said the Brazilian. "In this current period, he has been really really strong, but I just keep on doing my work and I'm sure the win will come."
