FORMULA ONE DRIVERS, OFFICIALS EXCITED ABOUT 2007 USGP AT INDY

INDIANAPOLIS, Friday, Sept. 1, 2006 - The 2007 United States Grand Prix is scheduled for Sunday, June 17 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, and Formula One drivers and team officials already have the date circled on their respective calendars.

The USGP at Indianapolis has become one of the marquee events on the worldwide F1 schedule since the inaugural event in 2000 on the 2.605-mile road course. It's the only F1 race each year in America.

Quotes from selected F1 drivers and team officials about the USGP in 2007 at Indianapolis:

FERNANDO ALONSO (Mild Seven Renault F1 Team, 2005 World Champion): "I don't know why I have never had much luck at Indy, but I am looking forward to going back. Indianapolis is one of the great names in racing."

RUBENS BARRICHELLO (Lucky Strike Honda Racing F1 Team, 2002 USGP winner): "I enjoy going to Indianapolis. It is an important race for Honda and everyone. I like to race in the States. It is one of my favorite places to visit."

CHRISTIAN HORNER (Team Principal, Red Bull Racing): "For us at Red Bull, an American Grand Prix is extremely important. And Indianapolis is a great venue for the United States Grand Prix. It is good news that the race has been confirmed, and we are looking forward to going back there in June."

JOHN HOWETT (President, Toyota Motorsport): "For the whole of F1, it is really important to be in America. Indy is one of those tracks with enormous heritage, so it is great to be there."

KIMI RAIKKONEN (Team McLaren-Mercedes, 2003 USGP pole winner): "I am very pleased that we are coming back to Indianapolis. It is a famous venue, and it is important that F1 has a presence in America."

SCOTT SPEED (Scuderia Toro Rosso, only F1 driver from the United States): "I am very excited to go back to Indianapolis. The fans gave me such a great welcome this year. I will be looking forward to that race the most of all of them next year."

OTMAR SZAFNAUER (Vice president, Honda Racing Development, grew up in Detroit): "The United States Grand Prix is a very important race for us. Honda's biggest market is in North America, and also we have a lot of tradition of racing at Indianapolis. And we like racing there in Formula One as well, not just next year but for many years to come. We are glad to see that the race will be back."

DR. MARIO THEISSEN (Motorsport director, BMW): "For us, it is very positive. It is important, and it was good news for us that we will race in America. The U.S. is the biggest market for BMW. It overtook Germany two years ago. So it is important for us to have at least one race in the U.S."

JARNO TRULLI (Panasonic Toyota Racing, 2005 USGP pole winner): "Indy is important for F1. For me, it is a pleasure to go back every year to the USA. I enjoy myself there. I ride my Harley-Davidson. I enjoy the weather. The fan turnout is huge. On Saturday and Sunday, the track is full of people. When you walk around the city, they all cheer for you. They are polite and not crazy like some other fans are. So I enjoy going to Indianapolis."

ALEXANDER WURZ (WilliamsF1 Team reserve driver in 2006, WilliamsF1 race driver in 2007): "I raced there with Benetton in 2000, and I tested there with Williams this year. I like the circuit a lot. I like to go to Indianapolis because of all the tradition and history there. It's very cool. We need to race in the States. I'd like to have two races over there. For me, it is good because I have always been quick on the track."
