Toyota Motor Corporation and Toyota Motorsport GmbH have announced today that DENSO Corporation becomes a corporate sponsor for the Panasonic Toyota Racing F1 team from the 2004 season.
DENSO Corporation is a leading global supplier of advanced automotive technologies, systems and components and has supported the Toyota F1 team as a technical partner since 2002, by providing products such as tailor-made spark plugs for the team's V10 engine.
Under the new sponsorship deal, DENSO expands its relationship to become a corporate sponsor for Panasonic Toyota Racing, in addition to the existing technical support.
DENSO's logo will appear on the engine cover of the team's 2004 race car, the TF104, which will make its debut tomorrow, Saturday 17 January. Furthermore, Denso's logo will be branded on team clothing, driver overalls, helmets, and pit walls, in addition to the logo already allocated on motorhomes and technical trucks.
Koichi Fukaya, President of DENSO Corporation commented on the new sponsorship: "DENSO has a long relationship with Toyota Motor Corporation in motorsports and I am pleased that being a corporate sponsor of Toyota F1 team this year will reinforce the relationship. For long-term success, not only will we intensify our technical support, but all 90,000 DENSO Group associates will also back up the team."
Tsutomu Tomita, Chairman of Toyota Motorsport GmbH and Team Principal of Panasonic Toyota Racing welcomed DENSO as corporate sponsor by adding: "Toyota and DENSO have a long and intimate business relationship, and we are honoured that DENSO has supported Toyota's various motorsports activities. We are very pleased that our good relations will be further strengthened by their decision to become corporate sponsor of our Formula 1 team. DENSO's technology plays a very important role in developing Panasonic Toyota Racing's F1 car and we are all committed to doing our best throughout the 2004 season to meet DENSO's expectations."
