Pedro de la Rosa was not best pleased with Mika Salo after the Toyota driver nearly caused a crash in the pit lane during yesterday's Hungarian Grand Prix. De la Rosa and Salo, who spent much of the race fighting for position, pitted at the same time. The Jaguar made the better stop and got away first but Salo pulled out directly into de la Rosa's path.

The Spaniard had to brake sharply and swerved to avoid a collision: "My opinion is that he had enough room on the right not to squeeze me into the pit wall and I didn't exactly see it as a very clean manoeuvre," de la Rosa said.

"Especially because it's so wide on the pit exit here. There was no reason to push me into the wall and it was very close. I nearly hit the wall and I nearly hit Mika. I wouldn't say I was side-by-side but I had one quarter of the car there. I didn't just have to back out of it, I had to brake so hard that I locked the front wheel!"

De la Rosa was not impressed with the race in general, which he called boring after being stuck behind Salo for much of the time: "I don't know if it's a track-related issue or what, but it is a clear example of how boring F1 can be if we don't do something. I'd say I was a full second quicker than Salo and still couldn't overtake."

Salo was given a twenty five second penalty for the pit lane incident which relegated him to fifteenth in the race result. "The car was pretty well balanced in the race," he said. "I had a close call with de la Rosa in the pitlane, which I have been penalised for. I drove a good race today and kept off some pressure towards the end, so I am not happy about losing 25 seconds for what I think was normal."
