Daniel Ricciardo targets £2.4million sale as Aston Martin hypercar set to hit auction

Former Formula 1 driver Daniel Ricciardo is selling his personal 2023 Aston Martin Valkyrie, with the hypercar being offered at the Zoute Concours Auction on 10 October 2025 in Knokke-Heist, Belgium. It is expected to reach a value of £2million-£2.4million.

The Valkyrie was Aston Martin's attempt at creating a hypercar inspired by F1 technology. Developed by both the British marque and Red Bull Racing - with input from Adrian Newey - the car quickly lived up to its heritage as it beat the Silverstone production car lap record with a time of 1m56.42s.

Boasting 1100kg of downforce and 1140 horsepower from a 6.5-litre V12 engine with a KERS hybrid system developed by Cosworth, it came as no surprise that it was quickly scooped up by F1 drivers connected to the project. Only 150 units were ever built.

Ricciardo purchased chassis number 089 while he was under the Red Bull umbrella, adding almost £150,000 in factory options, including a £30,000 Badger Blue paint job, a nod to his "Honey Badger" nickname.

The car also offers clam vanes and upper suspension shrouds in exposed 2x2 twill satin carbon fibre and £40,000 ultra-lightweight magnesium wheels in matt black. Inside, the removable racing wheel features silver-anodised toggle switches, and the racing bucket seats are finished in Pure Black Alcantara with contrasting silver stitching.

With only 160 kilometres on the odometer, the car is barely used.

“It feels like a race car and it looks like a race car," Ricciardo said of the British hypercar. "I'm not used to having a roof over my head, but that's the only thing that really feels different, otherwise, it's a pretty straight-up race car.

“Will we ever see another car like this again? I can't predict the future. But when you ask if it is the pinnacle of road-legal technology then yes, I think it is.”
