Coulthard: Rosberg is showing “worrying signs”

Former grand prix star-turned-TV commentator David Coulthard has spotted “worrying signs” from Mercedes ace Nico Rosberg, as the German bids for his first Formula 1 world title.

After two grands prix, Rosberg is already 10 points behind teammate Lewis Hamilton, and Coulthard believes all is not well within his camp.

In his column for The Telegraph, Coulthard wrote: "The worrying signs are coming from the other side of the garage to Lewis. After two races it has not worked out for Nico.

"There are a lot of mixed messages come from him, in terms of wanting information, and then not wanting it. We think of Nico as the engineer behind the wheel, but he's undoing his own PR."

Gridwalk snub

Coulthard also complained that Rosberg was being contradictory in his approach to his media responsibilities.

He claims he was snubbed on the grid at Sepang.

"In Melbourne, he spoke of wanting to connect more with the British public and media," added DC.

"The heat of the moment before the race is the perfect time.

"Yet when I went to his manager asked to interview him on the grid, Nico said no, because he was talking to RTL, the German broadcaster.

"It contradicts what he said two weeks ago."
