David Coulthard is not about to write off Michael Schumacher, despite the surprising start the German has had to 2003, and expects him to bounce back from his disappointments. Schumacher has yet to step on to the podium, while Coulthard won the season opener in Melbourne.

The McLaren driver had his own disappointment in Malaysia, the victim of an electrical problem, while Schumacher finished sixth.

"It's two races now and two mistakes," said Coulthard, after the world champion hit the back of Renault's Jarno Trulli at Sepang. "But you never underestimate Michael. Just because he is having problems now doesn't mean he won't bounce back in Brazil with a dominant performance."

"He has got to play catch-up now which is a new situation but the reality is if their car is quicker in Brazil then winning races is fairly straight forward for them because they have got amazing reliability and he knows what it takes."

Some are saying Schumacher isn't used to not running at the front and the pressure is causing him to make errors. Michael certainly has had a comparatively less than successful start to the season and Coulthard hopes it continues.

"We need to hope he keeps himself under pressure," said the Scot. "As it just confirms what we have all said in the past that if you do put him under pressure he does make mistakes."
