Caterham given dispensation by Ecclestone to miss Austin and Brazil

The team will be allowed to miss two races will a new buyer is sought.

The Caterham F1 Team is set to miss both the United States and Brazilian Grand Prixs as the new man put in charge of the operation scrambles to find a new buyer. This comes after a verbal jousting match between Tony Fernandes and Engavest.

Administrator Finnbarr O’Connell has taken control and has now been burdened with the task of somehow saving the crumbling operation. With special permission from Bernie Ecclestone, they will likely miss the next two races in hopes that a new buyer is found in time for the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix at the end of November.

The Leafield staff, which was locked out of their offices this week, will not be able to return to work until a new buyer is found.
