Jaguar Racing got off to an encouraging Canadian Grand Prix weekend start with their two hour Friday morning test session. Both drivers Antonio Pizzonia and Mark Webber worked through a full programme of tyre testing and ended the session with the second and third fastest times respectively.

Webber had an incident-packed time, leaving the circuit a total of four times on the dusty, slippery surface. In one of these, he hit his right rear tyre against the barrier exiting the final turn and had to pit for a new wheel. Other than that, there was no damage.

"It's always very difficult at this place on the first day," said Webber. "The track isn't used for the rest of the year and so there is a big dust build up. The car itself feels fine. I anticipate we will be chasing the track with regard to our set up as the rubber on the surface builds up, but so far so good."
