Rendez-vous on Crescent Street
For the 4th consecutive year, the Crescent Street Air Canada Grand Prix Festival is back. The festival, presented by Molson Dry and sponsored by Honda will take place on June 6th, 7th and 8th. Nicola Picciani, president of the Crescent Street Merchants Association stated: "Crescent is a unique street and has become known worldwide as 'the' place to be during Grand Prix weekend in Montreal."
For three days, Montrealers and visitors will be entertained with free concerts on the Molson Dry Stage. Racecars such as the B.A.R.-Honda and Jordan-Honda Formula 1 cars, as well as an F1 engine will be on display. Other festival highlights include: the popular Honda/Michelin pit stop competition; the Telus sponsored 20th anniversary Gilles-Villeneuve booth with his 1974 Formula Atlantic car; Playstation2 games; race simulator; and official F1 merchandise booths.
Jerry Chenkin, VP Advertising for Honda Canada, is delighted to be associated once again with the Crescent Street Air Canada Grand Prix Festival. Honda is organizing a charity auction featuring many prestigious items including: autographed Honda scooters painted in Jordan-Honda and B.A.R.-Honda colors; a travel package to the B.A.R.-Honda and Jordan-Honda factories in England; 3-day racing school with Marc Gagnon, Olympic gold medallist, at the Skip Barber racing school - Le Circuit Mont Tremblant; and gift-certificates from the Crescent Street Merchants Association.
All proceeds will be donated to the Fondation de l'Institut de réadaptation de Montréal (IRM). The IRM is a short-term rehabilitation facility that accommodates approximately 1,500 patients each year. Most of these patients are victims of car accidents with severe motor skill deficiencies. The Honda Charity Auction, conducted by the well-known Iegor de St-Hippolyte, will take place on Friday June 7th at 5:30 pm. For more information visit www.honda.ca.
