Jenson Button has recently been linked with Jaguar and has admitted he has been in talks with other teams about next year but he refused to be drawn on what his future holds. Fernando Alonso, Renault's test driver, has said that he hopes to be driving for the team next year in a race seat, fuelling speculation that Button is moving elsewhere. The Englishman said he has options to consider and was not worried.

"People don't know what is going on so it is not a problem," Button commented. "I have got some good options for next year so I'm not too worried. I'm thinking about Silverstone, my home grand prix, and then I'll think about my future after that. My 'love-hate' relationship with Fleet Street (the British press) has been going on for three years. I am very happy with how I'm doing at the moment and that's what's important to me. It is not important what people write about me."

Button scored more points in the European Grand Prix when he came home fifth. Renault were battling with McLaren but the Englishman thinks there's more to be done before they can win the fight: "A big part of our advantage over McLaren was in traction out of the chicane and the hairpin," he said. "The car was working very well but McLaren had a bit more in the very fast corners and that is something we have got to work on."
