Satisfying results for the Mild Seven Renault F1 Team after the private testing session at the British Grand Prix. In spite of mixed weather conditions and several on-track incidents, the team nevertheless completed 113 laps in total, which equates to almost two race distances.

Pat Symonds, Executive Director of Engineering:

"In spite of the Silverstone weather trying to be its normal self and disrupt our work, we achieved our requirements for this Friday test. The circuit was a little `green' at the start of the morning, but the tyre choice seems clear and the new components on the car performed extremely well."

Allan McNish, Team test driver:

"A difficult morning owing to the weather conditions from halfway through the session onwards. We concentrated primarily on a tyre programme which we managed to complete, even though circumstances were not ideal. I lost some time through a problem with the traction control, which caused my spin, but overall it was a positive session. I'm happy to be performing in front of the home crowd again, and to see the Scottish flags flying around the circuit."

Denis Chevrier, Engine Operations Manager:

"Little to report after a session which went generally according to plan, although it was not as productive as we might have liked because of several incidents out on the circuit. We began baseline set-up of the engine, which features several new elements this weekend, and we will continue this work in free practice."
