Hill finish was 'touch and go'
Eddie Jordan has revealed that in the last few laps of the British GP, Damon Hill's Jordan has a pneumatic problem, and it was touch and go whether the car would finish. "we told him to back off as we knew we had a good gap from Pedro Diniz." said Jordan.
Eddie Jordan has also gone on record saying that he now hopes Damon sees out the season 'It is up to him but the team is behind him and would like him to continue if he can drive the way he drove today. If he keeps this up he should continue to the end of the season. It was a great day for him and for the fans - a great British Grand Prix.'
Drivers criticise gravel traps
David Coulthard and Eddie Irvine have both criticised the design of current gravel traps, saying they do nothing to slow down the cars if they go off in a straight line.
Irvine is quoted saying 'The GPDA have been saying for years that they've got to go up (hill) but they don't go up, they don't do anything. That one didn't slope up and none of them do around this circuit. They are absolutely no good. If it's flat and you spin a little bit and go into it, it works a little bit. But if you go straight in the way Michael went...you are just going to slide along the top.'
