Qualifying for the Brazilian Grand Prix was disappointing for DHL Jordan Honda, with Giancarlo Fisichella and Takuma Sato qualifying 14th and 19th (respectively). Sato's penalty for exiting the pit lane yesterday under red lights cost him his fastest time of 1.15.283 but not his grid position.

GIANCARLO FISICHELLA

"Yesterday I thought we could squeeze into the top 10, but with temperatures and track conditions today it wasn't possible, which is obviously very disappointing. I believe we got the maximum out of the car but it is clear that our package just was not competitive enough today."

TAKUMA SATO

"Qualifying was always going to be difficult for me because due to the penalty imposed on me, I had one less chance to make a good lap time. We struggled with the balance and hot track temperatures, which did not work well for us. I was hoping to go quicker in the last outing but in the last corner I had a big moment and also got caught up in traffic. We hope that we can run a reliable race to the finish tomorrow."

GARY ANDERSON DIRECTOR OF RACE AND TEST TEAM ENGINEERING

"Obviously we are disappointed with the positions as we expected to be higher up the grid than this. It is clear that the hot temperatures didn't suit our package very well. All we can do is hope we have a better day tomorrow."

The T car is set up for Giancarlo Fisichella for tomorrow's race.

GIANCARLO FISICHELLA 14th
1.14.748
CHASSIS NUMBER 4

TAKUMA SATO 19th
1.15.296
CHASSIS NUMBER 3
